The city of Liverpool is building up to 2008 when it becomes European Capital of Culture. It has a thriving Chinatown thanks to traders from Southern China settling in the city from the 1840s onwards.
To celebrate their unique contribution to the city, Poseidon Design were approached to help out with this project for a pedestrian precinct.
We inlaid Chinese motif designs in Naval Brass in Granite paving slabs. 3 different designs were incorporated into the slabs: a Chinese ship (displayed), a Chinese Rose and Crown.
18 paving stones were created in total, 6 off each design and they will be installed towards the end of 2006.
